Two trades. One ticket. One system.
Most garment-care software treats alterations as an afterthought — a note field bolted onto a cleaning order. Garmenly runs both as first-class workflows, from counter to factory bench to the customer's SMS.
One order, six garments, both trades — priced, tagged and scheduled together.
You are running two businesses on one counter.
A suit comes in for cleaning. The trousers need a hem. The customer wants a fitting Thursday and everything back Saturday. That single interaction touches pricing, a machinist's bench, a factory scan point, a due-date promise and a text message — and in most systems it lives in three places at once.
Alterations as a note field
Cleaning-first platforms record alterations as free text on the ticket. No operation pricing, no bench time, no machinist allocation, no fitting appointment — so the margin on your highest-value work is invisible.
Agents who phone it in
Drop-off agents ring through orders or hand over a paper docket. Someone at your end re-keys it, commission gets reconciled by hand at month end, and nobody trusts the number.
Due dates that are guesses
When cleaning and alterations run on different timelines and nobody models bench capacity, the promise you make at the counter is a hope, not a plan.
Your agents enter their own orders.
Every drop-off agent gets their own PIN login. They lodge the order themselves — customer, garments, services, prices from your list. It lands directly in your factory queue with their commission already attached.
- No re-keying. The agent captures the order once, at the point the garment is handed over.
- Commission calculated live. Rate per agent, applied per order, visible to both sides all week.
- Weekly invoicing, Xero-ready. Commission statements generate on a schedule and export as CSV.
- Agents see their own book only. PIN-scoped access — their customers, their orders, their numbers.
The agent portal — self-service order entry with live commission tracking.
What changed when the business switched to it.
Garmenly was not built for a demo. It was built inside a multi-site dry cleaning and alterations business that also services a network of agents, and it replaced software that was already being paid for. These are that operator’s own numbers.
More Google reviews
Review requests fire automatically at collection instead of being asked for when somebody remembers.
Given back to the counter, every day
Time previously spent deciphering agent dockets and re-keying them. Agents now lodge their own orders.
A month off the text message bill
Same volume, roughly 10,000 messages a month, at a materially lower rate per message.
A month of rostering software retired
Rosters and timesheets moved in-platform, so a separate subscription came off the books.
Average order value and repeat visits both moved.
The marketing module is the reason. It knows what each customer last brought in, what they usually spend and how long it has been, so a quiet week can be worked rather than waited out. Since it went live in that business, average spend per order and customer return rate have both increased, alongside the review growth above.
None of it came from a roadmap meeting.
Each of these started as a cost or an annoyance on a real counter. The agent portal exists because two hours a day of re-keying was unacceptable. The rostering module exists because paying $300 a month for something the POS already had the data for made no sense.
About these figures: they come from a single multi-site operator — the business Garmenly was built inside — measured against the systems it previously used, in Australian dollars. They are shared because they are real, not because they are a forecast. Your trade mix, message volume, agent network and staffing all change the arithmetic, so treat them as an indication of where the savings tend to sit rather than a promise of what you will see.
Everything the counter, the factory and the office need.
Not modules you buy separately. One system, one price, one login.
Multi-site point of sale
Stores, kiosks, factory and agents on one database. Move a garment between sites and the whole group sees it move.
Garment-level tracking
Every item gets a barcode tag, not just the order. Scan at intake, cleaning, pressing, assembly, transfer and collection.
Alterations priced your way
Operations, groups, prices and bench minutes are all customisable at the click of a button. Trousers, jackets, dresses, shirts, zips, per-metre curtains — add or change anything without waiting on support.
On time, every time
Turnaround promises calculated from real production steps and bench load, then tracked garment by garment — so the date you gave at the counter is the date the customer gets.
SMS automation
Ready-for-collection texts, fitting reminders and marketing campaigns to segmented lists, sent through your own SMS gateway.
Driver delivery app
Van manifests built from transfers. Drivers scan garments on and off, so the chain of custody never breaks.
Thermal tags and receipts
Prints to Epson and Bixolon hardware through a local bridge — garment tags and customer receipts, no cloud print queue.
Reporting that matters
Workload, cleaning and pressing time, revenue by site and trade, agent-sourced share, and payment reconciliation.
The system does the watching
Due dates calculated per site and per item, a roster that suggests adjustments against workload and capacity, and exception reports that send themselves before a problem becomes a refund.
Targeted marketing, not blanket discounts
You control exactly who receives which offer, so a discount only goes to a customer who needs one. Results are read against real orders, not opens and clicks.
Rostering that pays for itself
Productivity is measured per person and per site, so you roster against real throughput and booked workload. Hours push straight through to Xero or MYOB.
Role and PIN lockdown
Counter staff, machinists, factory hands, drivers, agents and owners each see exactly what their role allows.
Priced by operation. Costed by the minute.
Every alteration is a real line item with a price and an estimated bench time. That is what makes fitting appointments schedulable, machinist load visible and alteration margin something you can actually read off a report.
- Operation-level pricing across six garment groups
- Bench minutes per operation drive capacity and due dates
- Fitting cards carry the pin measurements to the machinist
- Per-metre pricing for curtains and drapes
- Alterations revenue reported separately from cleaning
The alterations bench — priced operations, fitting cards and machinist load.
How a garment moves through Garmenly.
Lodged at the counter, a kiosk or by an agent
Customer, garments, services and prices captured once. Every garment gets its own barcode tag printed on the spot.
Transferred to the factory
Garments scan out of the store and into the factory. Nothing is "somewhere in the van" — the scan is the record.
Cleaned, pressed, altered
Scan stations advance each garment through its production steps. Alterations run in parallel on the bench with their own fitting schedule.
Assembled and sent back
Garments regroup into the original order, bag up and scan onto a van manifest for the right store or agent.
Customer notified, order closed
An SMS goes out with a tracker link. Collection scans the garments out, takes any balance owing, and applies rewards.
Factory scan station — live queue, transfers and exceptions across every site.
They get told, not left wondering.
Automatic SMS on ready, a live tracker link they can open without an app or a login, and a rewards balance that brings them back.
- Ready-for-collection and fitting reminder texts
- Deep-linked order tracker — no app, no account
- Rewards: $10 credit per $100 spent, 60-day expiry
- Segmented marketing lists and batch SMS campaigns
Prints and takes payment the way a shop actually works.
Thermal garment tags and customer receipts print through a local hardware bridge to Epson and Bixolon printers. Card payments run through an integrated terminal path, and every takings figure reconciles back against the till.
- Epson and Bixolon thermal printing via a local bridge
- Garment tags and 80mm receipts from the same station
- Integrated EFTPOS terminal path
- Daily payment reconciliation with variance reporting
Written on the shop floor, not in a boardroom.
Garmenly grew out of a real multi-site dry cleaning and alterations business in Brisbane. Every workflow in it exists because something on a counter was slow, error-prone or costing money.
Read the business, not just the till.
Split cleaning from alterations. See which agents actually produce. Know how much bench time next week already owes you before you promise a Saturday.
Straight answers.
Do I have to use both the cleaning and alterations side?
No. Plenty of shops start with one. But the pricing is the same either way — you are not paying extra for the trade you are not using yet, and turning the other one on later is a settings change, not a migration.
Can I bring across my existing customers and price list?
Yes. Customer records, garment price lists and alterations operations all import from CSV during onboarding. If your data is in another POS, we help you get it out and shaped correctly before switchover.
What happens to my agents during a switchover?
Agents get PIN logins and a short walkthrough before go-live. Because the portal is a browser page and not an install, an agent can be trained and lodging orders within an afternoon.
Does it work if the internet drops?
Printing runs through a local hardware bridge on the store machine, so tags and receipts keep working. Order data syncs when the connection returns. We will walk through your specific setup on a demo rather than make a blanket promise here.
Where is my data stored?
Australian-hosted infrastructure by default, with regional hosting available for UK, US and Canadian customers. Your data is yours — full export is available at any time, not just on the way out.
How long does onboarding take?
A single-site shop is typically live inside two weeks. Multi-site groups with a factory and an agent network take longer, mostly because we build your price list and turnaround rules properly before switchover rather than after.
See it running on real garments.
