Keep tags, receipts and payment close to the counter.
Garmenly prints garment tags and 80mm receipts to supported Epson and Bixolon printers through a local hardware bridge installed on the store machine.
Install the local hardware bridge
The hardware bridge runs on the machine at the store and connects Garmenly to local printing hardware. It is the local connection point for tag and receipt printing, so install it on the computer that will remain available during counter hours.
Choose the store machine
Use the counter machine connected to the printer network, not a staff laptop that may leave the site.
Install and open the bridge
Follow the onboarding installation guidance and allow the bridge to access the local printers.
Select the intended printers
Identify the printer for garment tags and the printer for 80mm receipts if your site uses separate devices.
Run a controlled test
Print one tag and one receipt before opening the counter to confirm both the format and the physical printer.
Print garment tags
Garment tags are printed for individual items, not just the overall order. Confirm that the printer has the correct tag stock, then print when the counter order is ready. Attach each tag to the matching garment before moving on to the next order.
- Check that the tag includes the expected order and garment number.
- Print a replacement only after checking whether the original tag is genuinely unusable.
- Keep tags dry, legible and securely attached through the full production path.
- Test barcode readability at the same station before relying on a new roll or label type.
Print 80mm receipts
Receipts are printed on 80mm thermal paper. Give the customer a receipt when payment is taken or a balance changes, according to your site process. If a receipt needs to be reprinted, first open the correct order so the reprint refers to the original transaction.
Use the Linkly EFTPOS path
Card payments use a Linkly terminal path. Start the payment from the order, follow the terminal prompts and wait for the terminal result before treating the payment as complete. If the terminal and the counter screen disagree, do not take the payment again until you have checked the order record and terminal result.
Troubleshoot a printer
Most print issues are local: paper or tag stock, power, network connection, printer selection, or the hardware bridge not running. Work through the simple checks in order before changing settings.
Check the physical printer
Confirm power, paper or tag stock, lid position and any printer status lights.
Check the store machine
Confirm it is awake, connected to the local printer and running the hardware bridge.
Confirm the intended destination
Verify that the tag or receipt job is pointed to the correct Epson or Bixolon printer.
Run one test and document the result
Note the site, printer type, order number and what happened if support needs to help.
Complete opening checks
Make hardware checks a short part of the opening routine, before the counter becomes busy. A test tag, a test receipt and a terminal check are quicker than finding a fault while a customer is waiting.
- Store machine is powered, connected and the hardware bridge is running.
- Epson or Bixolon printers have the right stock and can produce a readable test.
- Barcode scanner reads a test garment tag.
- Linkly terminal is available for a controlled payment check under your local procedure.
